乾隆款金地粉彩勾莲八宝纹五供 （5件一堂）

A Set of 5-piece Sacrificial Utensils with Colorful Lotus Pattern on Golden Underpainting Made in the Period of Qianlong

 

清乾隆 Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period（1736-1795）

炉（The Censer）：通高（H）37.2cm；耳宽（Width from Ear to Ear）36.7cm；口径（Caliber Diameter）20cm

蜡扦（The Candle Stands）：通高（H）37cm；足径（Foot Diameter）14.9cm

花觚（The Flower Vessels）：通高（H）37cm；口径（Caliber Diameter）18.4cm

 

五供又称五具足，由香炉1件、蜡扦2件、花瓶2件组成，为佛前常设供器。其中，香炉用于烧香之用，蜡扦用做点灯之烛台，觚用做置水插花的花瓶。

五供外壁以金彩为地，上绘五彩勾莲八宝纹。香炉口沿、蜡扦中盘和花觚中腹处署长方形六字篆书款“大清乾隆年制”。

 

A set of 5-piece sacrificial utensils are also called 5 Buddhist implements, which contain a censer, two candle stands and two vessels, for consecration before Buddha. The censer is for burning joss sticks; the candle stand is for candle light; and the vessel is for flower arrangement with water.

 

This set of 5-piece sacrificial utensils are of colorful lotus pattern painted on golden background. There are inscriptions on the edge of the opening of the censer, on the middle plate of the candle stand and on the ventral of the vessel, which read “Made in the Period of Qianlong of the Grand Qing”.
